Broken Camera

My mom was carrying our brand new $800 camera up the stone staircase - and fell. My dad says it's not broken because the lens cap was on and there isn't One scratch on it; I have my doubts though. One of the first things we learned in my photography class is how sensitive the inside of a camera is, and even dropping it on the carpeted floor in the classroom would break it, so imagine a hard rock. He turned it on though, and said it's working like nothing happened, that he dropped the old one we had several times. I don't know if that's true or if he said it to comfort my mom, who said her fingers are never touching that camera ever again. But I guess time will tell if it' broken or not. I could swear that I heard glass or something in that direction break just as she fell, but it might just have been my imagination. There was never anything wrong with That for sure. lol.
